Coaching Corner

Mosman Little Athletics Club values above all else the fun of competition and the satisfaction of seeing your results improve as a result of the effort and discipline of training.  As such we expect that athletes display good sportsmanship and behaviour at all times.  Scroll down to view the guidelines below.

The main aim at Mosman Little Athletics is to provide the opportunity to have fun and improve fitness in a relaxed environment. However we recognise that some of our more talented athletes would like the extra edge that competition provides and we offer opportunities at Mosman and elsewhere for our athletes to experience this.

We run competition nights where athletes will be able to record their performances and track their progress through the season against a series of benchmark achievement levels for their age group on this website. These competition nights will also be used to help select teams for the State Relays and Zone Championships. Mosman is part of the NSW Little Athletics North East Metropolitan Zone and their Championships are run in late January at the Narrabeen Academy of Sport track. Athletes from U7 up to U15 have the opportunity to compete so watch out for nomination details later in the season. Athletes successful at Zone (ie finishing in the top 3 in a Zone event) can then progress on to the Regional Championships  and then the State level.

Mosman has an arrangement with the Manly Warringah Centre for our athletes to compete as guests at their regular Saturday morning meetings, held from September through to March. Each visit is $10. All visitors must report to the computer room to be entered into the Manly Warringah Little Athletics Centre system and be given a competition number prior to competing at each visit. Mosman club members attending a Manly Warringah comp day must wear the full Mosman club uniform including registration number, age patch, IGA red patch and centre number #19. All visiting athletes are also expected to have a parent willing to help out with the age group. If you are thinking of attending for the first time, please contact a Committee member for assistance, or visit the Manly Warringah website for further information.
