Little Athletics NSW has recently advised that they are bringing our sport into line with Athletics Australia, other sporting codes and school sports by making a change to the cut-off date that determines which age group an athlete falls into. From the start of next summer season 2018/19, the anniversary or cut-off date for athletes’ birthdays will change from 30 September to 31 December of each year. This means that, while athletes born in January to September will be unaffected by the change, athletes born in October, November and December will change up two age groups for next season eg. affected athletes in the U12 age group this season will commence next season 2018/19 in the U14 age group.
