Though Mosman Little Athletics is a training-based program and maintains a relaxed and fun atmosphere, we also enable and encourage our athletes to achieve their best. We run four competition nights every season, support and encourage representation in wider Little Athletics events, and also enable our athletes to train or get involved in other Little Athletics clubs if they want to enhance their skills.
Competition Nights
These nights a fun way for athletes to put their skills into practice, strive to achieve their personal best in individual events, and compete against their peers. There are four competition nights per season, and they take the place of training. Competition nights are also used to record athletes’ individual performance in all track and field events.
Championships
Depending on their performance throughout the season, all registered athletes may have the option of representing Mosman Little Athletics at a range of championship events.
MORE ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS
Additional Training and competition
MLA typically offers extra optional training sessions during the Summer season for U9+ athletes, usually on Thursdays from 5.30pm at Balmoral Oval. This is a great opportunity for extra training for athletes who may qualify for championship events, but you do not have to be a member of Mosman Little Athletics or competing at the carnivals to attend. More information will be provided once the season commences. See http://mosmanlittleathletics.com/about/winter-training-program-2/
For private individual or group coaching, please email queries to [email protected]
Some U12-U17 athletes may also be invited to train with our Seniors club – Mosman Athletics Club
Invitationals and Gala Days are hosted by other NSW Little Athletics centres throughout the season and athletes from Mosman are able to register and compete. These events are promoted through ResultsHQ: Â
Competing as a guest at other LANSW centres and clubs
Mosman athletes may be able to attend some centre/club weekly competitions as a guest – if you are interested in doing this please ensure you contact the club first to confirm that they are able to accept guest athletes. Guest athletes must wear Mosman uniform and wear their registration numbers.
If attending Manly Warringah LAC Saturday competition at Narrabeen Sydney Academy of Sport:
Dual Athletes with Athletics NSW
Senior Club membership with an ANSW Club like Mosman Athletics Club (MAC) provides additional benefits for people aged 11 and above to participate in events beyond those offered by Little Athletics.
Competition is generally held on Saturday afternoons in a relaxed atmosphere at tracks including Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre (Homebush), ES Marks (Kensington), Campbelltown and Bankstown.Â
Registration for the 2022/23 season, along with details of all championships and competitions, can be found at https://www.nswathletics.org.au/get-involved/membership/
U12- U17 athletes who register with ANSW will receive a different registration number for Senior events. Athletics NSW will issue registrations numbers at the athlete’s first competition of the season. This number should be kept safe and used when representing their senior club. MAC senior athletes wear the same uniform as Mosman Little Athletics but with their senior number attached.
